Radiography

Radiography is a technique that uses X-rays to obtain images of the parts of the body through which ionizing radiation passes.

This examination is used for the investigation of infectious foci, pulmonary congestion and pleural effusions, identification of fractures, bone tumours and osteoarthritis.

The crossing of the body by ionizing radiation does not generate any kind of pain; however, although the radiation doses are very low, they involve a biological effect on the tissues they cross. For this reason, the presence of pregnancy must be excluded with absolute certainty in women of childbearing age who consider undergoing this examination.
